Signing in with your authenticator

Why Naio asks for a 6-digit code after your password, and what to do if you lose your authenticator.

This is a draft and has not been reviewed. Check what it says against the screen in front of you before relying on it.

Naio asks for two things every time you sign in: your password, then a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. A password alone only takes you to the code step.

The first time

  • Sign in with your email address and password.
  • If an administrator gave you a temporary password, you must choose your own password first.
  • On the next screen Naio shows a setup code. Add it to your authenticator app, then type the 6-digit code the app shows.

Every time after

  • Enter your email address and password, then the current 6-digit code.
  • After 30 minutes without activity Naio signs you out of every device.
  • Signing out ends all of your sessions, not only this one.

If you lose your phone or authenticator

Ask your practice administrator. They can reset your authenticator from the Team page, and you will set it up again at your next sign-in. Nobody else, including Naio support staff, can bypass the code.
